The sistrum is an ancient rattle, similar to the tambourine, found in archeological sites of religious ritual and presumably spiritual transformations and cycles. This acts as a metaphor for the cyclical and "hard ambient" healing sounds of this LP by Avalon Kalin. Sistrum consists entirely of electronic mallet patterns and organ pulses with percussion, piano, and electronic sound effects and acts as a lively background to creative work and dancing.
